Fourth and fifth graders at South Elementary School took their fellow classmates and teachers on a journey to the movies this week during their winter musical performance.

South Music Teacher Mr. Michael Greenstone led the students as they performed their concert entitled "South Goes to the Movies."

The students worked hard over the last several months perfecting the songs they sang and danced to.

The performance opened with the "Star-Spangled Banner."

Popular theatrical songs they performed included "Lean on Me," "My Girl," "Do-Re-Mi" and "Eye of the Tiger."

During the numbers students even played recorders and percussion instruments while Mr. Greenstone played along on his guitar.

The concert ended with the group singing the South school song.
